My current research focuses on the challenges listeners experience when understanding a person (target) in the presence of competing talkers (maskers). In particular, I am interested in how speech intelligibility is affected when target-masker pairs are different languages, accents or dialects and/or coming from different spatial locations.  My objective is to assess the contributions of energetic and informational masking in speech-in-speech listening situations. I also aim to better specify the construct of informational masking.

My research interests are speech perception, audiovisual speech perception, psychoacoustics, and spatial hearing.

I am currently a T32 Postdoctoral Fellow in the Spatial Hearing Lab directed by Dr. G. Christopher Stecker within the Hearing and Speech Perception Research section at Boys Town National Research Hospital.
